Sorry, this entry is only available in European Spanish.

From the 22nd to the 28th of November, Indiana Water Polo University girls were with BIWPA for our Team Training service. The Americans, coached by Barry King, made a total of six intensive days of training with two sessions in the morning and afternoon.
The first in the morning with two hours of preparation in the water at the Club Natació Barcelona facilities and afternoon preparatory scrimmages with different Catalan sports clubs. Among those who were CE Mediterrani, CN Mataro, CN Rubi and Sant Feliu.
These trainings are an added value to your stay in Barcelona because it serves as an opportunity to measure your level with the level of the European professional clubs. In addition, this serves as an opportunity to gauge their potential in the face of competition in the United States.
The joint address by Barry King, has shown in social networks that Indiana was very pleased with this expedition to Barcelona. Their journey was published in a blog on their website where they wrote about their everyday experiences.
Although the visit served as sports training, it was also the first time many of the players have visited Barcelona and therefore have taken the opportunity to learn more about the secrets behind this city. Thus, they were able to see different places and were able to enjoy the excellent Mediterranean food.
Last week, October 18th-24th, the Dutch ZV de Zaan team arrived in Barcelona. Two senior teams, one male and one female with nearly forty water polo players between them. Also, a technical staff of 7 coaches joined these teams as well.
This expedition is part of the contract that the Netherlands has with BIWPA and there has been much progress with Dutch water polo. Zan de Zaan joined BIWPA in Barcelona last year where they trained in the morning and participated in matches in the afternoon. The men competed against Catalunya, Molins, Horta, and Sant Felui; while the women competed against Horta, Sant Andreu, Mataro, and Catalonia.

The results have been very positive for the Dutch team and because of their hard work, they will hopefully continue to grow and be successful.
Finally, thank you to all of the clubs who have participated in the matches. Your support is vital for all of the teams who come to Barcelona and see that they can continue to work hard and improve their skills.

Our water polo team training camp program has already started. The SK Neptun, from Sweden, has been the first team who has enjoyed this program.  Since then, we haven’t stopped of receiving new team applications, both national and international.

Today we want to introduce you five American water polo teams that have just confirmed their reservations for a stage of water polo with BIWPA in Barcelona.

These teams are: Rose Bowl Water Polo Club, San Diego Shores Water Polo Club, Agoura High School, Sacred Heart School Atherton  and San Jose State University Spartans.

They will train at the spectacular Montjuïc municipal pools. These pools have hosted water polo and diving competitions during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics  and the 2013 World Swimming  Championships. Furthermore, the facilities are located at the top of Montjuïc hill, so that’s the reason why these pools also offer a breathtaking view of the Barcelona skyline. Definitely they are a fantastic facilities: teams will enjoy the Spanish good weather while they are training in its spectacular outdoor pool.

They will have two daily training sessions, and we have planned for them matches against national water polo teams. Barcelona is the only city in the world with eight high performance water polo teams in its downtown, and fifteen more in the regional area, which is a good opportunity for both to share knowledge between them and test their level.

In their free time they will enjoy touristy activities like visiting Sagrada Familia, walking in Park Güell or the FC Barcelona stadium tour. Others will just prefer other relaxing activities, like enjoying the beach or have a walk around Barcelona.

Each water polo team has customized his stay, including housing conditions, intensity and training sessions, or leisure and tourism tour. We have adapted everything depending on their goals and needs.

So if you also want to do a water polo team training camp with BIWPA, we will be delighted to design a plan for you. You only have to write to info@biwpa.com, or you can visit our programs hosted on our website. See you in Barcelona!
