The first week of the Water Polo Easter Camp 2014 was a great success. We are delighted with our young water polo players, which have shown a lot of motivation and interest and their improvement has been steady all week.

To them has been an experience, not only because they have made great friends, but also because they were able to share values such as teamwork and generosity, and they have shown great enthusiasm and passion for water polo. Thanks to the strong connection between coaches and players, the Easter Camp participants have not only experienced high performance water polo, but have also learned to develop their skills and abilities.

What impressed them most has been the visits of great athletes like Anni Espar, Felipe Perrone and Anna Copado, and the lecture “How to stay motivated all year” by the coach Xesco Espar, one of the distinguishing features of our campus. In addition, the experience of training in the CAR of Sant Cugat has left its mark among our water polo players, not only they were impressed by the facilities, but also because they have been able to experience the lifestyle of elite athletes and they were able to share with them breakfast, lunch and dinner. What an experience!

To finish the campus, yesterday  we were able to enjoy a very special tour. We went to see the match between Spain and Canada and then we walked through Montjuic, getting to know some of the facilities where the Barcelona 92 Olympics took place. In the evening we all shared together (parents , participants and coaches)  a farewell dinner, which was very emotional, full of gifts and surprises for our water polo players.

We are very pleased with the success of this first edition, mainly because our water polo players have had a great time while improving their athletic performance. Tomorrow comes the second group, and we hope you enjoy as much as the athletes who’ve been with us this week.

We hope to see you again in the summer!

As you know, BIWPA‘s philosophy is based on excellence and technical development of the athlete. In the same way, our programs focus on the psychological and emotional preparation of the players, a factor with great impact on individual and collective sports achievements. And if anyone is an expert in this area, that’s Xesco Espar .

Xesco will do a lecture to all the players registered in the BIWPA Easter Camp in 2014, entitled ‘How to stay motivated all year’, and it would include, among others, the following issues:

  • What are the main points of personal performance ?
  • What routines can make us perform at our best all year round ?
  • How can we increase our psychological talent?
  • What is and what is the purpose of invisible training?

Espar claimed during an interview in a Spanish newspaper that you have to ignore our feelings, even when we talk about sport: “You can only grow if you are thinking of your goals with your heart and not your head, because it limits you” .

For those of you who are not enrolled in the Easter Camp 2014, but want to attend the lecture, feel free to write to and we will give you more information on how to get a valid acreditation to attend the presentation .
