Barcelona International Water Polo Academy (BIWPA) and Watko have signed a collaboration agreement. Watko is Decathlon's own new brand specialized in water polo and, after this deal, becomes the new BIWPA technical partner.

Decathlon is the largest sporting goods retailer in the world. After starting its adventure with water polo through its swimming brand, Nabaiji, the French company has now firmly committed to our sport with the creation of the Watko brand, unique and exclusive for water polo products.

Watko will be the official brand of all sports equipment at BIWPA events and services and will also dress the Academy athletes. In addition, Watko will take advantage of the Academy's high performance and technification program to keep improving its products.

The Academy Sports Director, Quim Colet, finds it very positive that a big company such as Decathlon commits to water polo:

"It is a great honor that Watko chose us to keep growing within the water polo world. BIWPA and particularly the Academy, together with Watko, will make a great synergy."

Yannick Rolland, Director of Watko, is very pleased with the partnership:

"BIWPA with its academy and beach water polo events are very active on water polo market. Besides, they will give us a good opportunity to meet a lot of new water polo players and develop our beach water polo products to make our dream come true: where there is water, there is water polo."
