Waterline Video Analysis

NEW! | See your game above and below the waterline — for the first time at BIWPA

We're proud to introduce Waterline Video Analysis, a brand-new service at BIWPA designed to take athlete development to the next level.

Using professional Watlicam dual-perspective technology, this exclusive add-on captures technical execution above and below the waterline simultaneously, revealing key details that standard video footage simply cannot show.

This service is ideal for athletes looking to accelerate technical improvement, receive personalized expert feedback, and create high-quality recruiting or highlight videos.

Waterline Video Analysis is available as an optional add-on during the registration process for BIWPA camps, clinics, and team trips.

This is how we do it:

What Is Waterline Video Analysis?

Waterline Video Analysis is a 30-minute, coach-guided filming session where athletes perform position-specific technical exercises while being recorded from both above and below the water.

A BIWPA coach leads the session, ensuring correct execution and capturing high-quality footage that highlights:

  • Body position
  • Leg work and elevation
  • Timing and coordination
  • Technical efficiency in key actions

All footage is delivered in high resolution for review, analysis, and sharing.

FAQ

1. Is online school an option?

Our academic partner is AESA Prep Academy, an international school specialized in student-athletes. Classes are held in person, in small groups, and follow a flexible schedule that allows students to balance training and studies efficiently.

2. Do student-athletes need a visa?

Yes. Athletes coming from outside the European Union must apply for a student visa, which also allows them to compete in the local league during their stay. BIWPA provides guidance throughout the entire visa process, helping families with all required documentation and steps.

3. How long can my child stay?

You can choose between a semester program (September–December, January–June) or a full academic year (September–June).

4. Where do student-athletes live?

All athletes stay in the same residence with full board, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodation features individual rooms and shared common areas to ensure comfort and community living.

5. Is there a girls group at the Academy?

Yes! The Academy practices are co-ed, and the number of girls has grown every year. We currently have a dedicated women's team that trains and competes regularly.

6. How many tournaments or games do they play?

The local competition system in Barcelona is structured with official games every weekend from October to June. Because of the large number of teams in the league, there's no need for additional tournaments — athletes already enjoy a full 10-month competitive season.

7. What language is used for classes and training?

All academic classes are conducted in English, and training sessions are also primarily in English, although athletes are encouraged to learn some Spanish or Catalan to enhance their local experience.

8. How is transportation handled?

Transportation between the residence, training facilities, and school is fully organized by BIWPA. We have two dedicated supervisors who take care of the athletes 24/7 — one from Monday to Friday and another from Friday to Sunday — ensuring safe and reliable transfers at all times.
